Use of YouTube videos

The Synfuel website of CAC embeds its own videos via a link to the Internet platform YouTube. The operator of the platform is

Google Ireland Limited
Gordon House, Barrow Street
Dublin 4
Ireland

We use YouTube in the enhanced privacy mode. According to the provider, this mode ensures that YouTube will not save information about the users of the Synfuel website, unless they watch the video. However, the enhanced privacy mode does not necessarily preclude the transfer of data to YouTube partners. Youtube establishes a connection to the Google DoubleClick network - regardless of whether you are watching a video.

As soon as you start a YouTube video, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. This tells the YouTube server that you have visited the Synfuel website of CAC.

If you are logged in to your YouTube account, you allow YouTube to associate your browsing behavior directly with your personal profile. To prevent this, you must log out of your YouTube account.

Furthermore, when you start a video, YouTube can save various cookies on your end device or use comparable recognition technologies for identification purposes (e.g. device fingerprinting). This allows YouTube to receive information about visitors to the platform. This information is used, among other things, to record video statistics, improve the user experience, and prevent fraud attempts.

In some cases, starting a YouTube video may also initiate other data processing procedures over which we have no control.

The integration of YouTube serves to ensure an appealing presentation of audiovisual content of CAC for the purpose of marketing and public relations work. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) of the GDPR. Provided that the corresponding consent within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of this consent; the consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.

For more information about data protection at YouTube, please refer to their privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.

Social Media

The Synfuel website of CAC contains so-called hyperlinks to websites and services of other providers. We currently link to the following platforms: Facebook, Instagram and YouTube (see above) by means of so-called social media buttons.
The links to social media do not initially trigger any processing operations on the CAC website. Only when you click on the respective button and activate the hyperlink, you access the services. On their websites, usage data and possibly also user data may then be collected. We have neither influence on the data collected and data processing operations, nor do we have knowledge of the full extent of data processing, processing purposes or storage periods.
Information on purpose and scope of data processing by the social services, as well as your rights in this regard and setting of options for protecting your personal data can be found in the privacy notices of the respective service.

The Synfuel website uses the Matomo open source web analysis service of

InnoCraft Ltd.
7 Waterloo Quay PO625
6140 Wellington
New Zealand

With the aid of Matomo, we are able to collect and analyze data on how visitors interact with the Synfuel website. This enables us to find out, for instance, when and which pageviews were made and from which region they came. In addition, we record various log files (e.g. IP address, referrer, browser and operating system used) and can measure what actions visitors to the Synfuel website take (e.g., clicks).

The use of this analysis tool is based on Art. 6 (1) subparagraph 1 letter f GDPR. CAC has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to continually optimize its Internet presence.
In the event that consent has been requested from you, the processing takes place exclusively on the basis of this consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) subparagraph 1 letter a of the GDPR and Art. 25 (1) of the German Telecommunications-Telemedia Data Protection Act (TTDSG), to the extent that the consent includes the storage of cookies or access to information in the terminal device of the user (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TTDSG. The consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.

IP anonymization

For the analysis with Matomo we use IP anonymization.
For this purpose, digits from your IP address are deleted before the analysis so that it can no longer be clearly assigned to you.

Analysis without cookies

We have configured Matomo in such a way that Matamo will not store cookies in your browser.

The Synfuel website uses so-called Google Fonts, which are provided by Google, for the uniform display of fonts. The Google Fonts are installed locally. A connection to Google servers does not take place.

More information about Google Fonts can be found at:

and in Google's privacy policy:

09

When using the contact form on the Synfuel website, we will process the personal data you provide in order to respond to your inquiry. For processing, the specification of a name and a valid e-mail address are mandatory. The processing of personal data from the input mask of the contact form is only carried out to process the contact. At the time of sending your message to us, your IP address and the date and time of registration are also processed. This serves to prevent misuse of the contact form and to ensure the security of our information technology systems.
The legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f GDPR or Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. b GDPR, if you contact us regarding the conclusion of a contract with CAC.
In this context, the data will not be passed on to third parties. The data is processed exclusively for the processing of the conversation. We will erase the data generated in this context when storage of it is no longer necessary, or will limit the processing of it to compliance with the existing statutory preservation duties.

10

CAC uses extensive technical and organizational security measures to protect the data from accidental or deliberate manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons. The transmission of confidential content and information takes place in encrypted form. For this purpose, the Synfuel website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line.

This measure ensures that third parties are prevented from reading the data you transmit to us.

The technical security measures undergo regular review and are adapted to new technological standards where necessary.

11

We store your data only as long as it is required by law or as it was specified in a corresponding consent.

12

You have the right at any time to request information free of charge about the scope, origin and recipients as well as the purpose of the storage of your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR).

Within the framework of data protection regulations, you have the right to request the correction of incorrect data and completion of incomplete data and, if the legal prerequisites are met, to request deletion or restricted processing of your data (Art. 16 GDPR).

You have the right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), that is the right to receive the data concerning you in a common electronic, machine-readable format or to have it transmitted to a third party to be named by you.

If we carry out data processing on the basis of legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) subparagraph 1 letter f GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data at any time with effect for the future for reasons arising from your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). In the event of your objection, we will check whether the legal requirements for the processing of your data are met and, if this is not the case, we will immediately refrain from any further processing of your data.

If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, these data – with the exception of their archiving – may only be processed based on your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims, for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of public interest of the European Union or of an EU Member State.

To exercise your rights you should contact us or our Data Protection Officer at the address given under datenschutz(at)cac-chem.de.

In addition, you have the right of appeal to the data protection supervisory authority responsible for you.
